Primary 7 - Trip to Carlingford

26th Jun 2023

Primary 7 enjoyed a fun filled end of year trip to Carlingford Adventure Centre.

The boys and girls started the day at the Skypark with the zip lines. Once they were harnessed and had listened to the safety talk it was straight on to the practice lines. The children quickly got the hang of it and progressed through the levels to the higher zip lines all around the park. A few hours later, with tired arms and legs we headed back to the centre for lunch and a welcome rest.

Next, it was up the mountain for some laser tag fun. The children were split into teams, red and blue, and they played various games; man for man, capturing the castle, VIP, in different locations. Team strategy was very important and the Blues seem to come out on top!

After that, it was back down to the centre for our evening meal before heading over to the boat house to get ready for our water activities. Changed and ready to go, in wetsuits and life jackets, the children played some paddle games on the shore before heading out in the kayaks. With an evening breeze beginning to blow the boys and girls had to master their paddling skills and stay on course. They all did brilliantly with a few voluntary and a few unexpected capsizes. We finished our water activities and our day at Carlingford with some pier jumping. For some of the pros, it was wee buns, for others it was the first time. A daring leap of faith into the unknown!

Back on the bus home and our last stop was at Mackles Ice cream. Thank you again to Mackles for the lovely treat for this wonderful Primary 7 class. A great day was had by all.
